As a registered nurse at Grayson, Fannin and Cooke Counties’ only non-profit hospice, I had the privilege of working with Lander Bethel as he volunteered his time to our agency as chaplain, visiting the terminally ill and their families in their homes, and working with hospice staff at all levels, reinforcing to us why our work was so important in the here and now, as well as in the hereafter, comforting us when the need was there. It mattered not at all if a patient was of his faith or no faith at all. That was 15 years ago. He cared. Not for the money; there was none. He just plain cared. For everyone. He cared then, and he still does today.
I cannot think of anyone better equipped, or more devoted, to representing every person in Northeast Texas as their voice in Washington –regardless of whether you identify as Republican or Democrat or Independent –as a member of the US House of Representatives.
